Competition Countdown

Plan your fight camp with week-by-week phases, weight management, and a pre-competition checklist.

How to Plan a Fight Camp

A well-structured fight camp typically runs 8-12 weeks. The early phase focuses on building a conditioning base with high training volume. The middle phase intensifies with hard sparring and competition-specific drilling. The final weeks taper training volume while maintaining sharpness through technical work and visualization.

Weight management should begin early with gradual dietary adjustments rather than drastic water cuts. A safe weight loss rate is 1-2 lbs per week through caloric deficit. Save water manipulation for the final 24-48 hours only if necessary, and always have a rehydration plan ready for after weigh-ins.
